A Democrat who understands how modern politics works? Why isn’t she citing “norms” as if they’re laws and being a huge pathetic bozo in the face of obvious fascism?
Imagine if we had a good lead in the Senate and the House and something like this could succeed. Beautiful. But, much like all the other things Dems know will fail, get it on the record that it's the GOP that's saying, "no, thank you, I like criminals on the SCOTUS, they're my people"
The judgment in Trump v. United States itself ought to be impeachable; it's a fundamental attack on the basic principles underlying the Constitution, flying directly in the face of the text and the founders' documented intent. Focusing on bribery arguably lets 'em off easy.
Yes, this. The whole "keeping our powder dry" thing has become an exercise of keeping it dry now so they have something to keep dry later. Democracy should not be treated like good plates that are too fancy to use.

Democrats always act as if picking a fight costs them political capital. They don’t seem to understand that seeing them actually fighting for something - ANYTHING at this point - would motivate their base to support them more!
Also I woulda thought “preventing a perpetual authoritarian theocracy by corrupt despots” was literally the last resort point at which you use that goddamn powder to blow it all up. Like, what’s past that, that you’ve gotta keep something in reserve for???

The impeachment will never succeed in the house, either, but that's not why you do things. You do things because they're the right thing to do, first off, but more importantly, this forces the media to give coverage to the corruption scandal in the SCOTUS, and forces others to respond on the record.
