"Were democrats. When the writing is on the wall and were backed into a corner and have absolutely no other choice we Wil consider half heartedly doing the right thing... But only after it's too late and won't make a difference"

An old crone stopped me in the woods one day and asked if I would like to make liberals finally wake up to how terrible the NYT and CNN etc are and I said yes. Didn't realize there would be a catch that it was for the dumbest reason. That's on me. My bad for that.

American media: We've been running non-stop stories about Bidens age for a year. We've been hammering people on biased reports to make them think he's too old. We just polled our viewers that only get their news from us and 74% think that Biden is too hold. The *people* have spoken.

This is the "we don't have a legal case but we do have unlimited investor money" legal strategy.
New fresh hell just dropped: "OpenAI specifically asked for interview memos, reporters' notes, records of files and other materials cited in NYT articles. It stated that it was not looking for the identities of the paper's sources." www.entrepreneur.com/business-new...

Here's the Media Company's Response.www.entrepreneur.com The "New York Times" sued OpenAI less than a year ago over copyright infringement. Gasp. You mean 38% of the vote ISNT an overwhelming majority when the other 62% work together????
It turns out if centrists back the left and work together they can beat the right. Who knew?

This French election shows that many people are willing to reject the far right when a genuine leftist alternative is presented to them. Unfortunately, centrists never present a genuine leftist alternative, they shift to the right whenever far right politicians start rising in the polls.

I feel that the DNC refusing to work with the left in contrast to the UK and France highlights how we only have a right wing and a far right party

Left: Can I please have access to healthcare. I'll pay for it myself, even travel hundreds of km. I'd just like to have healthcare. Right: I would kill my political opponents. Media: Both sides are so extreme, it's hard to tell which one is worse.
In a normal campaign, this would have dominated the weekend’s news. I wrote about @gregsargent.bsky.social’s scoop about the Christian nationalist GOP nominee for NC Gov calling for murder of his political enemies: ‘Some folks need killing’: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | ‘Some folks need killing’: North Carolina Lt. Gov takes Christian nationalism to dangerous lowwww.msnbc.com Mark Robinson’s newly explicit calls for killing perceived enemies show how seamlessly Christian nationalists can glide into promoting real violence.

The radio just asked how to make 75 minutes last a lifetime. Apparently "forget to wear a condom" wasn't the correct answer. It's "take the ferry to PEI"

The right freaked out because Wikipedia was accurate and they couldn't control the message. They like AI because they can control the message and it reinforces their ignorance and biases
Remember when we all freaked out about Wikipedia and what lies it would be telling students? What sweet summer children we were.

If you're wondering how we got to this point politically, it's because liberals only think about the short term. The right wing has had a 50-year plan backed with infinite resources, while liberals operate in 4-year intervals, focused on protecting crumbs. It's chess vs checkers.

Theory: Our current political climate comes from the mindset of those who want to speak to the manager because they're unhappy, and are flatly uninterested in understanding why they're unhappy or whether they should be. They just want the manager to "fix it" and thus are willing to empower tyrants.

Ah yes, the FPTP system, where 34% of UK voters elected a majority with 63% of seats. Cons with 24% of the vote received 18% of the seats. And the majority of voters, 42.5%, are largely unrepresented with 17% of the seats.

Fucking unbelievable that the big publications are running with this as the lead story after the Supreme Court just promised to install a convicted felon rapist insurrectionist as Emperor for Life.
IMO this is a straight-up ageist and ableist image, no?

"Considerations of morality and ethics to be neglected": how the SVR organizes disinformation campaigns in the West

right wing govts across the world have spent the entire period since the 2010s weakening and looting the countries that were fool enough to elect them and the flow of kickbacks to legacy media has ensured collaboration in the whole project. Enough.
If a foreign state had done what the Tories have done to the UK, we would call it sabotage and treat it as a hostile act.

On July 4th, the American Independence Day, the NYT publishes a piece arguing that the people would be better off with a king instead of a democracy. In case you wondered where they stand....
More anti-democratic thoughts from 2018 the NYT allowed this writer to exclude from his current piece. Delivered with an air of detached irony, as if he miiight be joking or exaggerating. But is he?
