I'm not joking about his, they all hang out at these weird little gripe salons and then a few weeks later you get an article about whatever it is that came up there injected straight into the discourse
I’m just so tired of hearing about the same small circle of total weirdos and having their petty little work complaints held up as Trends We Should Be Worried About in the press
I literally have this talk with my writers when they pitch all the time: "This isn't an actual thing audiences feel at scale, it's just a passing thought you had/your small circle discussed." And they write about movies and TV ffs, not societal issues that can shape the worst a nation.
Remember when she wrote her article about socialist teachers at chi-chi LA private schools?

I’m sad to see Lenore Skenazy on that list. Her original free-range parenting point that kids need more autonomy and parents should not be arrested for letting kids play outside is totally right, I wish she would not throw down with this anti-therapy culture war shit
I had followed her in the other place because I liked her arguments about free range parenting and just watched as it slid into something more grotesque. Unfortunate.
If you knew nothing else about this group—I myself only recognize like 3 of these names—the inclusion of lunatic anti-vaxxer Alex Berenson would tell you all you need to know about the rest.
Levels of weirdness...
Level 1 - Only socializing with professional colleagues
Level 2 - It's not socializing, its networking -- that's a write-off
Level 3 - Leaking networking event to the media
Level 4 - As a member of the media, leaking networking event to the media
I suppose this explains why they think everyone they dislike is in some kind of drum circle where they all get together and plot out how to destroy America and trans the frogs.
