This is predictable but so important: Pasteurizing milk kills the H5N1 bird flu virus that is circulating widely in dairy cattle. It's easy to take a 150-year-old technique that has saved countless lives for granted, but don't fool around with unpasteurized dairy products. 🧪
Pasteurization Kills Bird Flu Virus in Milk, New Studies Confirmwww.scientificamerican.com Flash pasteurization destroyed H5N1 viral particles that were highly concentrated in raw milk, confirming that standard techniques can keep dairy products safe from bird flu

I think one of the really under-appreciated things in the US is how much SCOTUS' statutory interpretation decisions are damaging--and they are--but almost exclusively because of /Congress/ being a failed institution.

I don't have a Dygma keyboard, though I've heard really fantastic things about them, but I really, really appreciate their transparency on things like this. Creating a video like this is not something I've seen many other companies do. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhEG...

I need a style guide is it “former president and convicted felon Donald Trump” or “convicted felon and former president Donald Trump”? And when is it appropriate to use simply “convict”?

I mean, how can Sammy A constitutionally respect Martha-Ann's property rights at all?? That's not in the Constitution. That's not grounded in historical precedent.

Did a zoom meeting this morning with an aunty who due to renovations was talking to me from her sons room& apologising for the strange vase on the table behind her and ma'am there is nothing to be sorry for but that is not a vase and your son may be into flower but not the kind you seem to think

Yo, journalists. The grandpa toying with your colleague's life by publicly conspiring with a guy with a known passion for tossing reporters out windows may not be great for the media, no matter how many clicks he gets you.

Could we come up with Schedule III.A on the drugs list: "this is safe, it has some medical uses, and we're not gonna throw you in prison, but it's really stinky and you could maybe use it in your homes instead of making every urban sidewalk smell like a college dorm basement"?

Also interesting to see free speech framed as the right to speak without fear of being shamed or shunned. You should fear shame for being a bigot.

As the child of parents who grew up in a small country under a US backed dictatorship that Mother Theresa once said was "doing a good job," I think people don't know enough about what US money has funded.

If you ever think that tech CEOs deserve their ridiculous pay because of ineffable qualities like Future Vision, please keep in mind that they all got together and said "you know what the Internet needs? More content, but specifically a giant glut of nonsense so the true stuff is harder to find."

I've been thinking of the people who stopped traffic on the Key Bridge. They only had a Mayday from the ship, reporting a power problem. They had no reason to assume that the ship would bring the bridge down. People are normally reluctant to shut down highways. But they did. They are heroes.

I have read all your posts—thank you—and I have arrived at an extremely well informed take on the Key Bridge collapse: full employment for tugboats.

On May 9, 1980, the MV Summit Venture struck the Sunshine Skyway’s south span, causing a collapse. The bridge was nine years old. No amount of infrastructure funding can stop a bridge struck by a container ship from collapsing. I’m already seeing claims to the contrary.
