on the very day the Supreme Court's conservatives said 'we know best' and put themselves in charge of complicated agency decisions one of the geniuses confused nitrous oxide and nitrogen oxide. So they had to have a do over. Not exactly an auspicious start.

And these assclowns just declared themselves the imperial arbiters of science fact in the U.S. Gee, that's not bowel-looseningly terrifying. Not at all...
I wonder if anyone knows that Gorsuch's mom worked in the EPA and did all she kould to hamper its activities, If he had any integrity, he would've rekoused himself from that kase
Like a few replies point out, Gorsuch's mother was the director of the EPA under Reagan. While that doesnt mean he is a know-it-all by genetics or by osmosis, he should know enough to not confuse two gases. Plus, he has clerks.
Imagine how smart and qualified people can look when they have clerks?
Why correct this when their opinions are constantly peppered with lies (Kennedy v Bremerton) and bad science? Was this just Gorsuch trying to save face?
I have a science degree (not chemistry) and I would have easily made the same error… which is a good reason for me to not be writing air pollution rules for the EPA. Same goes for Gorsuch and the courts…
They don't care about the difference between nitrous oxide and nitrogen oxide because they have non intention of ruling on the basis of scientific data and statistically grounded scientific arguments. Simple really.
Gosh, has someone let them know that their opinions mean shit? So far gone from reason now that should they push this lack of knowledge on science much farther there WILL be public fury, in an active state.
Doubtful. The general public aren’t scientifically literate. I’m not saying this to be elitist; it’s just an unfortunate fact (partially the result of our anti-intellectual, anti-education culture and public policy, and partially a lack of people feeling science is relevant to them).
The only thing we can do about this sham court is to take the House and keep the Senate and presidency. We need to impeach the insurrectionist judges and pass ethics laws to keep SCOTUS honest. Expanding the court would be harder to do.
The ongoing death of expertise, at the hands of people who are experts at … [checks notes]… maintaining their privilege and steadily boosting their self-entitlement and power.
Wow, MegaCorp infotainment media is pitiful, the progressive policies of the Biden administration are working. In the real world, #bluetsunsmi is the path forward and 17 dimensional chess is a complicated game. Don’t give up the ship. Look forward and move forward.
