These people really don’t get what happens if Trump takes power again.
NYT's immigration beat reporter examined Trump's plan for mass deporation thru the lens that policies and rules and courts matter The people she interviewed are in that same bubble They don't Trump and Miller aren't going to follow laws. They intend to wreak havoc and expect no one to stop them

You might think American building regulations are informed by science and best practices; but you would be wrong! Mostly, they’re made up by people with no real expertise and no understanding of the regulations’ real world impact. From the Center for Building in North America elevator report:

There's a lot of leftists (and this is not a new phenomenon) who are allergic to any compromise with power or with the imperfect reality of the current day, and the result is that they accomplish nothing and mostly just make everyone around them miserable. It's bad praxis for social change.
Holding a black man who writes EXCELLENT and helpful essays about democracy responsible for the acts of a heinous and hateful white woman so powerful at the NYT she was the *BOOKS EDITOR* for like a decade before becoming an opinion writer says everything about you and nothing about him.

One nerdy housing note: When OER picked up unexpectedly in May, some folks noted it was driven to a large degree by a surprising spike in New York. Omair Sharif (among others) was adamant it was a fluke and would reverse. Well, looks like he was right.
Very good news on housing in this report. Owners' equivalent rent rose just 0.27% on a month-to-month basis -- the slowest pace since 2021. (Looking better on a three-month basis as well.)

When polls are saying Biden is up five in Michigan but New York is a battleground and Trump has 40% of the African American vote but Biden has 60% of the elderly, idk man polls are fucked some sort of way. Maybe Biden loses a historic landslide or he’s up by 5 but they’re fucked some sort of way
