looking back, i tried to do the best with the gender i was dealt because i legit didn’t know i had any other options. i was such a depressed little kid & teenager though. i was extremely dysphoric & had no way to understand what was happening. forcing any child to experience that pain is evil.

protect trans kids. defend puberty blockers and HRT treatment for minors. stop attacking children for having an endocrinology disorder goddammit. it’s bullshit i have to spend all this time on electrolysis as an adult just because some christian perverts are obsessed with controlling strangers.

Okay, didn't expect watching the Otokonoko & VTuber anime to both hit the same thematic pocket of the nature of identity, the societal expectations those identities entail & the impact of that on making human connections, but ooh, this is gonna be a fun pair of anime to watch this season.

Really glad I just sped run reading the manga for this so I could get a good feeling for the quality of adaptation (excellent so far,) and so that this scene couldn't kick me in the teeth so hard (but, oh do I know this show is gonna be a tear jerker, especially with OP alluding to what it does.)

i think i've posted about this before, on bluesky even, but when people talk about how any sort of yesterweb revival is impossible because the world has moved on and home pages won't attract tons of readers i feel like they're missing the point. it's like saying why scrapbook when no one will buy it

Personal sites won't be successful again because they were never successful at all - they weren't made to "succeed", they were made to have your own cool place on this big internet thing. The idea that we have to reap metrics, validation, "success", for anything to be worth doing has infected us.
