The last paragraph is delicious enough to spread on toast.
I love it when everyone's been up so long you start getting this kind of punch-drunk reporting.

This kind of message makes my blood boil. For the last 8 years of my mom’s life, she needed to use a walker because of balance issues. She didn’t want to, because it made her “old”—and look old. Instead of staying mobile with the help of a walker, she became a couch potato and had multiple falls.
IMO this is a straight-up ageist and ableist image, no?

Just to be really explicit about what’s happening here, the cover conflates age, physical disability, and cognitive disability, and goes on to conflate disability with unfitness for office. It’s utter bullshit.

One thing that's been very clear this past week is that most of those writing & pontificating about Biden's future as the party's nominee have a little to no experience in state and local Democratic Party activities. A brief 🧵:

The descriptions of Trump’s sexual abuse of minors are horrific and quotidian. (It sounds like a regular, unremarkable occurrence for him.) It is enraging that this story is buried under an avalanche of wish-casting discourse.
This story hits a little harder now that the jury documents for Epstein's case have been released (and Trump's name is ALLLLLL over those documents). Again, mainstream media is burying this story for Trump. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

For historians, the retrospective legitimation of essentially every criminal act Nixon committed while in office is quite mind-boggling. Ford’s pardon was utterly unnecessary.

Welp. I think we’ll hear about presidential immunity from SCOTUS today. The fact that this is an open question is stunningly wrong-headed. You certainly can’t claim the founders wanted it. Or rather, you can. But you’d be wrong. Here’s a brief explaining why. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/res...
