Academia is, I don't want to say uniquely ruthless about weeding people out based on class, but at least when a management consultancy expects you to work 60-hour weeks you get paid a lot more than your peers in retail

Also, very funny that they throw up their hands and say "well we don't know why do women drop out" when the very earliest that you can expect a permanent job in the field is in your mid-30s

I've found it almost impossible to explain to a lot of cis people the outsized role liberal institutions play in transphobia. They just cannot process that these bodies that talk the talk about truth and accuracy would fall down the same conspiracy theory rabbit holes as the right. Doesn't compute.

If we want to talk about privilege, you could do worse than a cis journalist having dozens of trans people giving him examples of the direct harm done by the nyt (and thats just the harms done to trans people) and his response being, well that doesn't feel like it should be true

Having lots of sniper training (played Sniper Elite) I could easily do it and gotten away with it. The trick is to wait until your target is standing next to an explosive barrel then shoot the barrel and immediately run and hide in some grass until the enemy stops looking for you
