We would all prefer the structural engineer who would make the building fireproof, but I’m still going to vote for the fireman over the fire.
Look, I've voted in every midterm and presidential election since 1990, the first year I was eligible. I wish there was a president I wanted to vote for this year, but I sure as hell want to vote against Project 2025.

People on the Cambridge side of the Charles got really excited a moment ago but no it was the only part of the 1812 that was audible without speakers.

Personally I don’t know if something that’s completely unnecessary and has no societal benefit can be described as having “electricity needs” tbh

Fountain pen sky, I have not yet tried any shimmer inks! What are the most interesting ones? I'll probably order 3 or 4 samples.

It can be fun when found objects tell a story, but less fun when the story is "ate plastic; threw up".

One day I will remember to eat a granola bar BEFORE I brush my teeth in the evening. Today was not that day.

There are two kinds of people in the world: the people who think a mask ban at protests will only be used against people at a protest, and the people who know the LAPD will suddenly start calling two Black people hanging out outside “a protest.”

I don’t think we have an inflation problem so much as a private equity/large unchecked corporation problem.

All day I've been scaling back the number of errands I would do after work until now when I have arrived at: don't leave house.

This stage of capitalism feels like the end of a monopoly game that’s been going on for hours and you already know you lost but the dick winning won’t let you go to bed until they get all of your money or you die.

Hey Bird Sky, any advice for how to attract more chickadees to my feeder? The current offerings are safflower seed and thistle seed. I hear them around my house and I've seen them at the feeder a couple of times, but they don't stop in regularly.

I am a staunch Democrat, and will vote such. But: if I ever meet the motherfuckers running their spamcannon SMS campaign, I will rip their fucking lungs out through their assholes.

It's interesting that businesses with a drive through and inside ordering always leave the inside short staffed. And by "interesting" I mean "incredibly frustrating".

Bitcoin consumes about 2.5% of US electricity, about the same as all residential cooling. An article decrying *that* electricity usage as a personal moral failing would be much less tone deaf.
Interesting article to run prior to a weekend where we expect a devastating heat wave and label it as “climate solutions”
