The anti-Blackness on this site is omnipresent and uncontrolled, and it keeps getting worse. And every time it gets pointed out, white people keep deflecting to another marginalization they experience. But Black people still aren’t safe just being Black here. That’s that on that.

This is a good point. She could have waited until after the election, or after a jury is empaneled. It smacks a bit of mask-off triumphalism, a sort of HA WE ARE WINNING TRUMP 4EVER BITCHEZ, which may be an accurate perception of the drift of things, or not.
The only thing that surprises me about what Judge Cannon did is that she did it this soon, on grounds this likely to be overturned.

Aileen Cannon is a good example of how Project 2025 would work. You put a barely qualified fascist in every government position that matters and BINGO. Fash times in the USA!

When I got jumped in March 2016 at a Trump rally by Neo Nazis and Trump cheered it on from the stage the Democratic mayor issued a statement about violence on both sides and the ACLU supported Trump’s right to yell at people to attack me. Stop looking to institutions to protect you from fascists.

💥Fact Check💥 Trump getting almost shot doesn’t make him any less of a criminal, a felon, a rapist, a pedo, a moron, a fraud, a fascist, a liar, a cheater, a crybaby, a loser, or a traitor.

from now until Election Day, we connect every story back to Project 2025 Eg: The FBI is currently investigating the Trump shooter. But did you know that Project 2025 will place the FBI under Trump’s direct control, so he can decide which acts of political violence get investigated, and which don’t?

A reminder that Donald Trump has spent years fanning the flames and fomenting political violence. Recall 2016, when he said the "Second Amendment people" could stop Hillary Clinton's Supreme Court picks if she won. This era of violent political rhetoric should've ended in 2016.

The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? Dude was categorically unable to fulfill any of the demands of the office and the press barely cared

That is an open threat. Terrorism as politics.

“The Court’s conservative majority has revealed itself to be the most direct threat to American democracy, and any Democrat who is not ready to shelve old fears about ‘court packing’ and get serious about expanding and reforming the Court isn’t made for this moment.” Correct.

Another thing you can do is call Dick Durbin's office and demand he stand up for democracy and haul Alito and Thomas before the Senate Judiciary Committee. And publicly demand their resignations. If you can't literally impeach them, AT LEAST use the bully pulpit. 202-224-2152.

African Americans will tell you that this country has never been fully a democracy, and white people are about to find out how the little democracy left is about to go up in a puff of smoke should Trump get back in the White House.

I started my career reporting on how people were using the Internet in dictatorships, and if there's one BIG thing I learned from talking to a bunch of people who literally had served jail time for political blogging, it was "choose your battles wisely, and don't say dumb things in dumb places."
if there is one survival skill I would REALLY like everyone opposed to the fascist GOP to learn right now, it's "do not say things on the public internet that will provide authorities with useful pretenses for coming after you."

The landmark reversal nullifies all previously lawful forms of right and makes it very difficult for Americans to make ethical decisions or be generally decent human beings without facing criminal charges.
Supreme Court Overturns 'Right v. Wrong'www.theonion.com WASHINGTON—Striking down the judicial precedent that established the legal supremacy of right over wrong more than two centuries ago, the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned Right v. Wrong.

“Votes are not symbols, or statements, they are power.”
"The thing is what it does." The math does not care why I withheld my (or just didn't) vote, it does not care about my principles or intentions. It spits out a result, and one person or another's policies are put in place. Votes are not symbols, or statements, they are power.

“AI” is the culmination of the tech industry. Every time you use it, you destroy the environment, erode labor protections, endanger workers overseas, enrich the ruling class, and make something unforgivably worthless, all at the same time – and it's all hidden from you in a frictionless distraction.

THIS is what thuggery looks like. Not poor people looting TVs, this is high-priced, mercenary destruction of our system of checks and balances.
Supreme Court rules 6-3 that bribery is a conceptual impossibility, state administrative capacity is illegal, and it is henceforth the only branch of government. But don’t worry, they’re all good friends who take themselves very seriously.

Oh my God, I didn't realize this is literally the exact story I told in ONE NATION UNDER GOD. The Fraternal Order of Eagles was instrumental in spreading these Ten Commandments monuments across America in the 1950s ... as part of a promotional tour with the Cecil B. DeMille epic.
Eleven Commandments. Louisiana's law mandates a specific text. Not from Exodus, or Deuteronomy, but from the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They used a KJV-sounding pastiche adapted from the Bible and paraphrased by a Minnesota juvenile court judge in the 1950s. It's not the Bible. It's the Eagles.
