Classically, an establishing shot is needed to indicate every new scene, unless context makes it obvious. It’s possible to start scenes with a close-up for impact, but readers will subconsciously be tense/disoriented until you establish where we are in space & time. Don’t make them wait too long!

Some advice for folks getting into/ currently making webcomics: You don't have to draw a background for every panel! Sometimes it can be overwhelming and shadow the emotion you're trying to convey in your story. Make sure you have at least an establishing shot to ground the characters though!

I got one of those DC Compact Classics Watchmen volumes and I'm pleasantly surprised at how readable it is at this size. I didn't read the back and was also surprised to see that it has the Absolute Watchmen colors on nice matte paper. It's manga-ish sized, but Sig manga, bigger than the Jump stuff
