Tell every person you know that the GOP wants to ban porn. Let them imagine a hellscape where they both have no human rights and no legal sources of weird smut to drown their sorrows in
Yes, I absolutely do think over half the country cares about having their basic human rights taken away by a bunch of authoritarian freaks. For Christ’s sake, Project 2025 calls for banning PORN. We can get voters mad about this.

Unrelated stoner thoughts, Stephen Miller looks like Tim Robinson doing a bit.
Stephen Miller now following Trump's lead and saying he has nothing to do with Project 2025. 1. His organization is on the Project 2025 advisory board. 2. He recorded a video as part of Project 2025 training tools 3. You can see Mandate for Leadership, the Project 2025 publication in the background

Getting dogpiled so hard you delete your account from literally the afterthought of social media, you love to see it.
Wow. @nytimes.com has closed their Threads account and left the platform after days of getting just shredded in the replies for their handling of Biden post debate. Now they're getting dog piled on Instagram for running from Threads.

It's hard to communicate how radical this is. For 200 years every politician in America wanted the federal government to pay for things so they could take credit for it. It's a fundamental defining feature of American politics. But now owning the libs is more important. 1/2
The governors of a dozen Republican-led states — AL, AK, FL, GA, IA, MS, OK, SC, SD, TX, UT, WY — opted out of a new federal food assistance program, leaving about 9.5 million students without the aid this summer

There is a human being who choses which stories get BREAKING NEWS push notifications. There is a human being who lays out the front page of the newspaper. These are all choices of what to cover and emphasize and what not to cover and emphasize.
one of the most dishonest things people in my profession do is pretend as if “the story” and “the narrative” isn’t something they have direct control over

here's the other thing about this: i have no real power to determine this, and neither do you. but i would walk through hell barefoot and back again to vote for a democratic corpse before i'd ever consider a) not voting, or b) voting for donald trump. this matters to me, it should matter to you.

I do captioning for a living, & a big part of my job is cleaning up false starts & filler words. That has always been the norm at every media outlet. Print media edits Trump so carefully that you would never know what he actually sounds like. Doing this to Biden is a 180 from decades of policy.
Now everyone--The Times and, sorry to say, MSNBC--is noting every missed syllable. The man has a stutter. I don't stutter but I am a mushmouth who speaks too fast and slurs words. I've had to overcome fear of public speaking. I have empathy for Biden. The press has empathy for no one (but Trump).

Something I deeply respect about this website’s user base is that I know there’s some people on Twitter who fully believe that the head of Twitter is an open nazi and yet still find us too annoying to engage with

I’m not saying Biden should drop out. I’m just wondering how he wins over undecideds when teams of reporters and Twitter trolls are scrutinizing every syllable he utters for signs of impairment while every deranged thing Trump says is treated as old news. (2/2)

Nothing would make Biden look as young and dynamic as dragging our Israel/Palestine diplomatic positions into the 21st century (and the realm of reality)

And whoever the nominee is (i.e., Biden or Harris), I like the idea of a Trump campaign that's so overconfident and believing their own hype that they get sloppy and keep outsourcing GOTV to Charlie Kirk.

I know nothing about Project Dominion or any plans for Cardassia to join the Dominion. I have never even heard of the Dominion. I disagree with many things the Dominion is saying, and trying to conquer all solids sounds awful to me. I wish them luck in anything they do.

it truly is a shame that the New York City charter requires that the mayor be "thee largeft heap of fhite within thirty Miles" but the law's the law
"The roadway once carried between four and six lanes for motor vehicles, despite 88 percent of people in the area traveling on foot and squeezing into 30 percent of the space." And now Adams wants to give it back to cars?

Evidence that a) Biden could lead Dems to support a more humane asylum policy and b) default American attitude towards asylum seekers sucks
Great experiment here in partisan bias: views of policy without (dot) and with (arrow) the proposing candidate being mentioned.

there is no fucking “after” if trump wins again. there is america as we know it now, and there is post-america. that’s the choice. you aren’t voting for president, you are voting for the country you have always known, or one you’ve never known.
the fourth estate is fucking kneeling in advance and that is, i think, worth a lot more discourse than whether the only non-fascist in the race is an old man, which he is.
