I’m here for when this inevitably backfires in Roberts’ smug face. No one has ever stuck their neck out for Trump and not paid a price. It’s “no good deed goes unpunished” on steroids. The extent to which you used your power to shield Trump is directly commensurate with the price you ultimately pay.
I mean, I'm very confident that this could backfire for Roberts personally -- President Trump punishing him for a ruling he doesn't like -- but not in a way that's going to benefit me at all.
It might be a tad ridiculous but I seriously think it’s a full blown conclusion at this point. Not because it’s a scripted ending but because it’s been a consistent theme since 2016. He has gone on to shit on each and every individual that has has bent the knee to him in public.

I’d have to go back and look at what evidence they’re trying to exclude. Roberts said official communications are conversations with other executive branch officials, not campaign staff or personal lawyers. Who was he talking to in the hush money case?
Right, the court said that communication between Trump and another executive branch official constituted an official act, and it could not be used as evidence in a prosecution *even for an unofficial act.*
They do what they want and justify it somehow. They make it up thinking we won't know the difference. But we can't do anything about it. No ethics. No laws. No accountability for those 9. Actually, 6. And they know it. They rule.
He's also using it for crimes he commited after he was president too, so I don't think he thinks the exact timing of the crimes matters, just as long as he remains immune to any and all consequences for all his actions.
He's already made an immunity motion like 4 times in that case, so this wasn't exactly hard to guess he'd revive it.
I think Merchan is just going to say "doesn't seem applicable, see previous ruling, put it in your appeal pile. here's your sentence"
