I truly walked out of the theater that weekend feeling like I could shoot down one million alien ships singlehandedly and/or punch God with the Constitution but also nervously peering up at every large advancing cloudbank for the next two weeks and/or to this day.

Something that probably seems stupid now but I promise you, it's true: when INDEPENDENCE DAY came out, if you loved big dumb popcorn movies? And you got to see it in the theater? It was absolutely one of the most awesome things you had ever seen in your life. The smile split your face. It ruled.
