i don’t think this drives sympathy for Trump exactly, but i do think fascists thrive amidst political violence. there’s a promise in fascism to harness the violence, keep it contained, and direct it at your enemies. the more chaotic things get, the more appealing that is.

I agree with the point that people are tired of hearing, "This is the most important election of our lifetimes", but also this one really does feel like it is...

Can't make meaningful change if there are no more free elections. And I don't think gambling on whether or not the US experiment could survive another Trump term is worth finding out.

Watched the @lindsayellis.bsky.social video on Yoko Ono and really enjoyed it. I'm a big booster for letting artists be weirdos, even if it's annoying sometimes. Yoko strikes me as an avatar of that, and I respect the hell out of her for staying true to her vision
