Fyi to journalists: Hillbilly Elegy is not about the brave nobility of rural poor/working class people. It’s deeply insulting to rural poor people - presenting them as lazy addicts who rely on welfare instead of working. The book is about how amazing Vance was to escape that backwards culture.

Just a reminder: Trump inherited the lowest homicide rate of any president in 50 years. He was the first president in 30 years to leave office with a higher homicide rate than when he entered. And the rate has dropped every year since he left. www.foxnews.com/video/635815...

In all seriousness: the very idea that someone can take highly classified documents, store them in a public place, defy any number of requests, subpoenas, etc., and then face NO CONSEQUENCES AT ALL is genuinely shocking, and should terrify anyone who cares about national security.

The Constitutional Crisis is already here. You are living inside it. No way back, for better or worse. Either fight to win the future or concede to fascist tyranny taking over our country, the world's largest economy and mightiest military.

What’s interesting about this WSJ survey is the size of the margins. By 56-16 forecasters say inflation would be higher under Trump; for interest rates it’s 59-16 www.wsj.com/economy/econ...

this is powerful, whatever else you think about the paper of record. i suggest skipping the sniping and just embracing and sharing this widely.

In other news-someone with a spine has hacked the NYT Editorial Board... In all seriousness, this heavily right-leaning pub has clearly stated the point, even if they have been drowning this message with "Joe is old" coverage. Worth the read.

I live every day stunned that the guy who killed more Americans than anyone in history besides Jefferson Davis AND attempted a violent coup on national television AND suborned US foreign policy to his own electoral interests badly enough to get impeached for it AND

When I say the Supreme Court went beyond law, I don’t mean that I disagree with their interpretation of any legal text. I mean their immunity grant isn’t based in any. The Constitution does not address it either way. They invented new powers from nothing.
The Roberts Court Boosts Trump’s Attack on Constitutional Democracywww.arcdigital.media The overreaching, absurd, un-American decision granting ex-presidents a large degree of immunity is an exercise in power, not law

And the whole while we were trying to get Trump convicted of fomenting insurrection SCOTUS was leading one.

You missed the part on their website where they take no public funding (I call BS, but let's take them at their word). How much you wanna bet that this town doesn't want another shelter because it would cost them tax $$?

SCOTUS says it's okay to bribe officials as long as you pay after you receive the thing you paid for
The final SCOTUS decision today is Snyder v. US. Kavanaugh has the court's 6-3 decision on ideological grounds, holding that the Section 666 bribery statute does not apply to "gratuities" given for public officials' *past* acts. Jackson writes the liberals' dissent.

All those years in DoD procurement when I was "avoiding even the appearance of impropriety" and I could have been accepting gratuities with SCOTUS blessing. 😡

The fact that a second Trump administration is even a POSSIBILITY is such a tremendous failure on the part of every segment of our political elites. He could have been impeached, convicted, and permanently excluded on the very day. He could have been arrested the second he left office. Etc., etc.

A serious attempt by legislators or a candidate to invalidate a plainly valid election to install someone who plainly lost the election as president is not a "legal hack" or "finalizing results". It is treason. It is a treason against the United States and its citizens. We shouldn't dance around it.
