Giving a cop the mugshot treatment because he arrested a rich person who was guilty and acting like that’s totally normal should be a moment that open’s people’s eyes to the jig.

“If they can arrest Timberlake for DUI, they can do it to anyone!”

Maybe he's working from the inside.

OMG, he made the *rich* people mad. Can't have that.

What an utter disregard for shareholder value

He's going to wind up one of the two kinds of good cops an ex-cop when he quits a dead cop due to friendly fire
Avatar
The third and most likely option is that he eventually gives into corruption for one reason or another.
Avatar
Yeah and sadly that's the most likely scenario, hate it.

Killed in a riot training exercise, beaten to death, like that LAPD detective that was actually taking rape allegations against several officers seriously.

If he’s a rookie he probably was in elementary school the last time Justin Timberlake was a big deal

“He’s been infuriating the Hamptons elite for months” …when ACAB finds the rare exception

Hey, you don't know. Maybe that cop saw Trolls in the theater.
Avatar
He may have seen the movie but not known who sang the song.
Avatar
I thought the autotune sang the song. There was a person involved?

But he could tell that Timberlake was rich ppl, and he arrested him anyway.
Avatar
Maybe from the car, but he was pretty dress down when he got busted.
Avatar
Most rich people can't dress for shit tbh, Zuckerberg, Musk, Bezos... Their fashion sense peaked in high school (derogatory).
Avatar
The cop didn't even know who Timberlake was.

I like the idea of a new cop, not from the neighborhood, having completed training going up to a window of a car and naïvely asking, “do you matter? “

In New York City apparently the police officer's benevolent association gives cops "do not ticket this person" cards they can hand out, but I suppose in a fancy place like Sag Harbor the cop is expected to recognize whether someone is entitled to special consideration.
Avatar
The PD should send them to finishing school so we can recognize the cut of the suit.
Avatar
Sir, can you step out of the car, now do a twirl, OK you can go.
Avatar
I can tell you first-hand that the Suffolk PBA has those cards also.
Avatar
This plus the rampant placard abuse is well known by most NYC citizens. And we know there’s nothing we can do. Although it’s gotten so bad you can just make up your own shitty placard and they still probably won’t ticket your car.

my career in EMS was destroyed bc I asked about our EMT company's policies that were hurting patients, so much so that nurses in ERs would yell in my face for my doing what my company told me to do I was totally fired in retribution, but it couldn't be proven. I've been punished in academia as well

the Bay Area is a massive version of The Wire - a huge, hugely broken system but what I'm all but positive I've figured out: It's broken on purpose so that it fails everyone except the rich - class warfare by willful incompetence - "We totally want to help, but the system is what it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

There are a few who make it on to the force with good intentions, but for all such "good cops," in a few years' time they will either no longer be good, or they will no longer be cops.

This is the comment I was looking for! LMAO!

"infuriating the Hamptons elite for months" 🆘 I'm almost liking him a little

What does it say when our dislike of rich assholes makes Cops look sympathetic...
Avatar
I hate that I had a moment of sympathy for a cop no, it’s passed

might have just been gas

Yeah, I took a dump and I feel fine.
Avatar
Doesn’t he know the law is only for the poors?
Avatar
Especially for DWI which is normally a call for blood
Avatar
Only if you're poor or not white.

Fuck, somebody made me like a cop. Godammit
