Did everyone know that the Adlai Stevenson who lost to Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956 had a grandfather of the same name who was Grover Cleveland's VP from 1893 to 1897?
OK, I've done the math (aided by existing online tables), and the Trump-Vance ticket will have the largest age gap in US major-party history

Here in Denver, you're now seeing STARs vans everywhere - "Support Team Assisted Response." It's a medic and a social worker, both trained in mental health and addiction support, showing up instead of police. They offer support to homeless folks, people in crisis, and folks in altered states.
"U.S. police departments have gotten smaller—and the violent crime rate is still plummeting. So what is going on?" What's ALWAYS gone on. Cops do not stop crime. They never have. Real "tough on crime" measures are well-funded schools, free daycare, and mental health services. Always have been.

I question the editorial decision to use George H.W. Bush as the figurehead here when W is still alive and kicking saying George W. Bush’s ancestors enslaved Holman’s ancestors is just as correct, and doesn’t soften responsibility by laying it at the feet of a dead guy
Charles Holman had been researching his family tree for decades when he made a stunning discovery: President George H.W. Bush’s ancestors had enslaved his.
A stunning find in his family tree: The Bushes’ ancestors enslaved his relativeswww.washingtonpost.com “It was the coming together of things that I had been looking for for years,” Charles Holman said.

For the first time I can remember the left isn’t being blamed for a nominee’s general election struggles and they’re taking advantage of it.
The public endorsements of President Biden from Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reflect a careful calculation that he offers the best hope for advancing progressive policies, according to people close to Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez.
Why Sanders, AOC threw Biden a lifeline as his candidacy flounderedwapo.st Liberal lawmakers giving the president political cover are aiming to secure his support for a more progressive policy agenda.

Cannot be said often enough that Posobiec is the first guy who livestreamed himself “investigating” Comet Ping Pong for non-existent child sex trafficking and who Trump has given a platform to ever since thebaffler.com/latest/the-p...
If this isn't fascist rhetoric, then I don't know what is. This is from Posobiec's speech. I don't think I've ever seen so many different euphemisms for "Jews" in such a short piece of writing.

The Dem realignment on the Biden Ticket Issue is truly surreal. That it’s suddenly the center and pundit class demanding perfection and the left flank going, “guys, what are we doing here?!” is a plot twist even I couldn’t see coming.
Bernie: “Enough! Biden may not be the ideal candidate, but he will be the candidate & should be the candidate. With an effective campaign that speaks to needs of working families, he will not only defeat Trump but beat him badly. It’s time for Ds to stop bickering.” www.nytimes.com/2024/07/13/o...

This admin has pushed through more left-leaning policies than any other in Bernie's 30 years in Congress, and that's in no small part thanks to his own work and campaigns. He probably knows better than anyone what it means to get Biden re-elected.
In Opinion “I will do all that I can to see that President Biden is re-elected,” Senator Bernie Sanders writes in a guest essay, adding: ”With an effective campaign that speaks to the needs of working families, he will not only defeat Mr. Trump but beat him badly.”

That political subculture was "American fascism." That piece appeared in the Voice of German-Americans, a Holocaust denying, pro-Hitler newspaper published in Ridgewood, NY. Note the story about the "Soviet holocaust," which is the central focus of Posobiec's book as well.

Jack Posobiec is a very influential MAGA media figure. He posted this today. In the 1930s Fr. Denis Fahey was probably most well know for being one of the most outspoken anti-semites in the world...quite an accomplishment for that era.
