I will never forget the interview, shortly after Ozy Media Inc. was formed, where Carlos Watson said he named it after the poem, because "the lesson you take from [Ozymandias] is that you have to dream big."
So that's why liberal arts education is important.
these people cannot win and they know it, their entire schtick is pretending that the reich on the march will keep everyone quiet and scared, but, again, we do not have to believe them, and if we do not, they lose.
sure. fuck these people. we do not have to agree with them. they are a minority. i am not going to spend the next four months cowering in dread and fear.
they want and need everyone to believe that it is hopeless and that nothing matters and that nothing will ever get better, but, like, they’re wrong. they’re liars. they lie, depression lies, this whole thing is a fucking con to get you to think that submission is better than liberty.
these people cannot win and they know it, their entire schtick is pretending that the reich on the march will keep everyone quiet and scared, but, again, we do not have to believe them, and if we do not, they lose.
Between this and Trimp touting his VP announcement later today, they've already squashed the Heroic Survivor of Assassination Attempt story. I already can't remember if it happened on Friday or Saturday.
WSJ this morning. lol at the last bit.
"Leaders on both sides need to stop describing the stakes of the election in apocalyptic terms. Democracy won't end if one or the other candidate is elected. Fascism is not aborning if Mr. Trump wins, unless you have little faith in American institutions."
And this is how fascism wins. It convinces moderates to stop using the correct language to name what our enemy is and make no mistake. Trump and the Republicans are a fascist anti-democratic enemy to every real American who believes in the Constitution and rule of law. Do not stay silent.
You’d think there might be some renewed coverage of Republican politicians openly calling for political killings in the wake of all this.

MSNBC just interviewed a Trump supporter who was at the rally and she said “There is too much hate” and we need to pray for the country. She is wearing a “Know Your Parasites” t-shirt. These people have no self awareness.
Please don’t “both sides” the “violent political rhetoric” conversation when one side regularly glorifies and intimidates with guns and the other side speaks out to end gun violence.
These are not the same.
Fox News at 7:05 EST, before any confirmations from law enforcement: "They tried to incarcerate him, they tried to assassinate him..." so there is that.
Can't wait for this kind of mindset to spread to other places. The Kansas City Chiefs should declare right now that the entire NFL is corrupt and every other team are cheaters and the refs are woke communist gay babies and there will be violence unless they're given the 2025 Super Bowl trophy.
Project 2025 authors at the Heritage Foundation are already alleging the next election will be stolen, claiming any result other than a Trump victory in November will have been the result of fraud and will be challenged.
There’s a presidential candidate who organized a coup on live TV and was recently convicted of dozens of felonies for something entirely separate, and the political system is demanding his opponent step down.
I’m confident that these two pieces of excellent news which have taken place under the Biden administration’s watch—the IRS story in particular paints a sharp contrast with Trump/GOP demonization of the IRS—will dominate the news cycle.
After every election: We should have listened to Black women.
The run-up to every election: A bunch of white men's opinions platformed on every media site.
