The number one response I've been getting in the last few days is that Trump isn't involved and doesn't want to have anything to do with it so therefore we shouldn't worry. I don't know how to combat that. They are convinced P2025 isn't going to happen. :(
“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.
"They're just fearmongering about Project 2025," brought to you by the people behind "They're just fearmongering about a coup" and "they're just fearmongering about abortion bans"
another thing the “just move out of your red state” people don’t get is how disabled people like me—who depend upon care from a team of medical specialists—can’t “just move”
finding good doctors, therapists, primary care, etc. is not easy, fast or cheap
Meanwhile in Kansas.
I absolutely get the fear over Biden’s polling, but remember that a lot of people are PISSED about the GOP taking away abortion rights.
#StarTrekProdigy Season 2 really knocked it out of the park with such a tight season, plenty of side plots for character developments, meaningful tie ins to the rest of the franchise, with some fun shout outs, while progressing itself. This show deserves more seasons!
I really want a source on it that isn’t a site run by TERFs. It’s not that they’re automatically wrong about EVERYTHING, but…well…I admit I have a hard time extending their reporting the benefit of the doubt that I usually would.
It also makes me feel insane that the rat fuck around Biden’s age and mental capacity is being uncritically spread around by Democrats when Trump is *incredibly obviously* grotesquely mentally incapacitated, in a way that is genuinely terrifying.
It makes me feel very much unmoored from reality to see all this *buying into* the Biden Too Old ratfuck narrative, days after the Supreme Court ruled that Trump gets to be dictator for life, just weeks after Trump became a convicted felon (oh, and there’s the Epstein stuff that just came out).
I unironically believe a small but not completely insignificant amount of this has to do with a number of the greatest and/or most famous political and social heroes of the mid 20th century being killed/assassinated before they had a chance to get slightly older and therefore publicly more flawed
Found yet another site with AI-created summaries for my books; those summaries are both inaccurate and hopelessly bland. Please, folks, if you have kids of book report age, tell them from me that these summary sites are just complete bullshit. Don't trust them and don't copy their blandness.
this is one of my least favorite tropes and it is especially ridiculous when the heroes have just shot their way through an army of mooks to get to the villain
oh, you can kill 475 henchmen but the guy who is actually responsible for ordering them around is a step too far? do you hear yourself?
The fact that I'm working with my agent and a wonderful artist on a pitch with a trans teen struggling under the current legal hellscape for trans youth and had to stop this morning and go "...oh there's a chance this just straight up won't be able to be legally published huh" is so fucking grim
It is not Pessimistic or Unrealistic or anything to say that if the Republicans win in November the chances of HRT being outlawed for trans people entirely across the country is basically guaranteed
And even it they lose, if nothing is done about The Supreme Court then it's still on the table
The Biden administration cannot enforce new anti-discrimination rules in health care for transgender Americans, a Mississippi federal judge ruled, citing a recent landmark Supreme Court ruling that weakened the power of federal agencies.
some positive news: the prospects of defeating Le Pen in France in the runoff look much higher than they did after the first round, as third place finishers actually dropped out in most competitive districts
FRANCE UPDATE: The near-final list of candidates who are in the French runoffs is out.
Two days ago, 311 districts were going to have 3-way or 4-way runoffs.
Then, 200+ candidates dropped out to block far-right.
So: There'll be "just" 91 such runoffs this coming Sunday.
Yuuuup. On the technical side of filmmaking, Lucas is unquestionably the most important filmmaker of the last half decade - modern cinema is built on the innovations he and his team pioneered. But he's a shit writer and a mediocre director who absolutely requires mediation from others.
Burning coal is the most dirty, polluting, and inefficient way to get electricity.
As early as 1306, Edward I banned Londoners from burning it, due to its noxious smog.
So which countries are phasing it out the fastest now?
Greece and the UK lead the way!

I really thought I was cynical enough about the utter corruption of the right-wing bloc on SCOTUS, but it turns out I was still giving them too much respect.
Honestly still in shock that the most crooked American President in history said "I need immunity" and the GOP Supreme Court said "well, it's nowhere in the constitution, but sure, why not? Whats the worst that could happen?"
Anyhow the best time to address the shit was yesterday, the 2nd best time is today. Demand everyone asking for your vote to support packing the court, stop giving your resources to the police, demand public housing, healthcare, childcare, education, transit, food support and a right to privacy.
The part that really guts me is how blatant it is
Once they got Roe v. Wade overturned and the Democrats didn't do anything about it they realized they can do ANYTHING and aren't even trying to hide that they're stripping the country for the copper wires
