You can also use resistbot if you're calling averse: resist.bot
I recommend taking five to ten minutes to put your US rep, US senators, and state and local elected officials into your phone contacts so you can instantly call them whenever you get mad, which will be every day from now until we die.
Resistbotresist.bot Text RESIST to 50409 to contact your federal, state, or local elected officials; create movements; and more. Over 30,000,000 letters delivered and counting.

"If the left allows it to be" is a code phrase that means "If we get fed up and start murdering you, it's your fault." There is no amount of submission and supplication they will accept as sufficient to meet their bar. The Heritage Foundation wants to murder Americans.

Listen, there's only one candidate who can successfully navigate this strange new world that the SCOTUS has created, where bribery is legal and abuse of power is encouraged. That's why they must nominate Bob Menendez

Am I getting this right? Conversations a president has with advisors about how to steal an election can't be used as evidence that the attempted election theft was an unofficial (and therefore prosecutable) act because the conversations themselves are official acts?

Despair creeping in? Worried things ultimately won’t work out for you? Is Hell getting a bit too Hellish? Consider setting those worries aside and trying Grim Determination and focusing on helping who you can however you can Ask your doctor if Grim Determination is right for you
One of the worst things about online in the last few years has been the idea of "cringe" and how its been used to crush the ideas of believing in things, wholeheartedness, hope.

PERFORMATIVE DESPAIR IS NOT A POLITICAL STRATEGY. Do not conjure your own imagined demise. In particular, don't do it collectively, on a communication system meant to amplify emotional contagion. (simpler/more esoteric: don't do death magic at collective scale on your own minds, for fuck's sake)
Personal Me: performative despair is not a political strategy. You do not need to read it, boost it, otherwise encourage it or absorb it. Taking time offline is a super good idea today.

the fact that we can look at most major problems with our lives and guess "this is the fault of private equity" - and have that actually be correct a shockingly large percentage of the time - is an excellent reason to regulate the industry into the ground
"Veterinary prices have soared more than 60% over the past decade, according to federal stats. Private equity firms and large corps have bought 100s of facilities around the country, an acquisition spree reminiscent of the corporate roll-ups of doctors’ offices." www.nytimes.com/2024/06/23/h...
Why You’re Paying Your Veterinarian So Muchwww.nytimes.com People have grown more attached to their pets — and more willing to spend money on them — turning animal medicine into a high-tech industry worth billions.

You should have seen my kids’ faces when I told them that you could have a question about something and not be able to get the answer to that question without leaving the house.
i hate to have one of these at all but my big "WE DRANK FROM THE HOSE" opinion is that people younger than millennials really can't imagine what coming of age in a time of media scarcity meant - like, I would read about records and movies and not actually be able to see them for YEARS

Back in 1999, the WB pulled a Buffy ep because it was too soon after the Columbine shootings. (Imagine anyone bothering to do that now.) But it aired in Canada, so there was a tape chain to get the episode to fans in the US. I had a 4th-gen tape and it was SO bad. decider.com/2016/09/21/t...
I can still remember watching exactly 4 episodes of some anime that I borrowed from a friend, with japanese commercials included, on very low-quality Maxwell VHS tapes. I never saw any more episodes because the ebay seller she bought them from deleted their account shortly after sending them.
