Dem weirdos dreaming up tournament-style solutions to Joe Biden being the nominee and Catturd-grade reactionary types crying about cheating in the French election have one crucial thing in common, which is that they transparently lack the emotional maturity and patience required to be sports fans.

If you want pluralism and a liberal democracy, you have to vigorously maintain it. Always have. You don't build bridges and never inspect them. You don't build houses and never check the roof. You don't build roads and never fill in potholes. Society has always required maintenance. Always has.

How do we adjust to a world where major democracies have long-term viable fascist parties? It feels like we'll just be having existential election after existential election, and we have to win every time whereas they only have to win once.

They saw a threat to the Republic and responded. If someone from the French far left could vote for Macron's party, then anything is possible. To add, a lot of centrists voted far left too. You just gotta hold your nose and vote for the non-fascist. It's called being an adult.
