Wondering if the search for shooter's motive is a way for people to allay their own fear of getting shot. "Oh, I'm not a former Prez." "I'm not [insert religion/race/sexual orientation]" With the number of guns in the US, motive doesn't matter. Bottom line: any person for any reason can buy a gun.
