Getting lots of "are you looking for sources" questions already answered by my quote
New fresh hell just dropped: "OpenAI specifically asked for interview memos, reporters' notes, records of files and other materials cited in NYT articles. It stated that it was not looking for the identities of the paper's sources." www.entrepreneur.com/business-new...
ChatGPT's Owner Asks For Proof That 'New York Times' Articles Are Original. Here's the Media Company's Response.www.entrepreneur.com The "New York Times" sued OpenAI less than a year ago over copyright infringement. Now, the ChatGPT owner is making a request the "NYT" calls "harassment and retaliation."

We have seen some extraordinary crusades from the NYT: - getting a college President fired for dubious old plagiarism claims - abetting the far right push to destroy trans care - HER EMAILS - Biden’s age We’ve never seen them pursue anything close to this against the far right.

JUST IN: Polls closed in France. Exit polls show surprise: —Left coalition (New Popular Front) projected first. (!) —Far-right (RN) has lost its bid to take power. Anti-RN front appears to have worked very well. —No bloc close to majority. Follow this 🧵 for results and more:

Again the proper response to Stephen Miller or Donald Trump or anyone claiming to not be in lockstep with Project 2025 is just to ask them “what part do you disagree with?”

Holy. Shit. They're literally saying Trump's felonies aren't that bad compared to the "real felonies". Bear in mind, they're ignoring J6 and "gimme 12000 votes" call and the stolen docs. We joke, but this is literally Newsmax copy.

yeah isn't it interesting how they pretend his social media presence doesn't exist right up until he says something that could boost his public perception and then they all post stuff about it within ten minutes of each other
Oh so they DO read his Truth Social profile? That's weird because you think they might have mentioned the post he made about a military tribunal for Liz Cheney

my uncle spent summers working on MV in the 70s and recalls overhearing an exasperated guy in a bar complaining about how "the cameras keep falling in the water" & “that goddamn shark" wasn’t working. then jaws came out and he realized what he'd overheard.

It should not be controversial to say that prison sexual violence and/or coercion is never a good thing or an appropriate thing to joke or threaten about, even when the target is someone terrible. It is a deeply fucked up, traumatic part of our carceral system.

If you're gonna argue that optics matter over facts, record of achievements, etc., then please at least be honest enough to follow that up with "And that's why no one with an accent or visible disability should ever be running for POTUS." Because you know, there are people who would object to that.

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

A lot of my discussions on this topic evolve into a vague consensus that "creepy ads" are something that everyone wants to be able to exert more control over, but what exactly we want the outcome of that control to be is hard to articulate.
A lack of general understanding or consensus about why privacy law matters to different stakeholders bedevils both APRA and the larger comprehensive privacy project in the US, writes Joe Jerome (@joejerome.bsky.social). www.techpolicy.press/the-goal-of-...

When AOL and Prodigy started taking off in the early 90s, our neighbor bought a bunch of cement slab and busted it up and sold it online as "Real Pieces of the Berlin Wall" and "Real Pieces of the Great Wall of China" and that guy realized what the internet was gonna be before everyone else
