There is a difference between reporting the news evenhandedly and creating the news to achieve a predetermined outcome.
This context- that the doctor has been visiting frequently since 2012, with **unknown** numbers of visits when the middle administration rescinded the open visitor log policy, was completely ignored when writing the headline

Incidentally, I remember when Al Gore was an exceptionally well qualified candidate but the media hammered him into the ground and literally made up stuff about him because they didn’t like him

👇🏻Many infections start with kids in school. My family’s did. One kid only experienced a couple days of mild GI symptoms — but remained + for nearly 2 weeks. No one in our household developed a fever, though several of us felt miserable. Without testing, we could have contributed to a lot of spread!
Both times my family has gotten Covid, it started with one of the kids. Both times, the kids' first and primary symptom was nausea/vomiting. And both times, people thought I was crazy to test them because they were throwing up. www.nytimes.com/2024/07/05/w...

This is journalistic malpractice. The Biden admin was working on Parkinson's policy.
Breaking News: A Parkinson’s expert visited the White House eight times in eight months from last summer through this spring, according to official visitor logs. The administration has said that President Biden has no signs of the disease.

Wonder why the White House would have a Parkinson's expert visiting over the last year. Very suspicious stuff

Our latest investigation uncovered a disinformation campaign targeting France's snap elections, using AI-generated content to manipulate voter opinions. The operation, CopyCop, used large language models (LLMs) to create fake news outlets with a conservative bias against President Macron. Read more:

It is depressing but also clarifying for historians and others who do historical research to know that the SCOTUS really does not give two shits about historical accuracy. The ultraconservative 6 will sign on & use cherry picked data points to justify conservative, undemocratic legal outcomes. 1/

There was lead in EVERY tampon they tested. There was less lead in organic tampons, but those had higher concentrations of arsenic. Also fun: It's 2024. This is the first ever study testing metals in tampons. Great. 🙃 www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/tox... Study: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Well, well, well. WELL. That whole “protests made cops feel bad so they all quit” narrative? Looks like it was mostly myth. Excited to read this paper by Ben Grunwald, who compiled a huge dataset on post-2020 police employment. Agg decline was 1%… and bigger local declines not tied to protests.

Still marveling at Gorsuch's Ohio v. EPA opinion, in which he confused nitrogen oxide (a pollutant) with nitrous oxide (laughing gas). He did this five times, never once getting it right—in an opinion overruling the EPA's own expert scientific analysis! s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24...

Every big media organization was so crossed-up by Trump winning in 2016 that they have been behaving and hiring as if Long Island-Coded Suburbo-Racist Sociopathy was on an unstoppable ascent worldwide, and interpreting everything backwards from there. It turns out most people actually hate it!
Honestly, what kind of bananas frame this story like this? Is shit serious or not, fucken freaks?

NY Times: You thought this election might be about an unprecedented convicted criminal running to overthrow Constitutional democracy? You think you decide the narrative? Oh no. That’s our turf. And we say the most important thing in the election—nay, the world—is Joe Biden’s age.

It’s amazing the extent to which our billionaire tech bro overlords are just telling us out loud that they are rooting for fascism. Makes me slightly nostalgic for the days when American plutocrats plotted against democracy in secret.

Damn. Imagine voting strategically to prevent the worst possible outcomes…
Le Pen's party (RN) got 143 seats. While a record, that's far (very far) from the 289 they hoped for to govern. How?! Hundreds of Left & Macronist candidates dropped out to help each other block the RN. And millions of voters then voted strategically to get that job done.

Things seem bleak but it’s probably a bad sign for Republicans that people have started mentioning their actual goals and political blueprint and their response is “how fucking dare you??”
