Yup. Even if you have a car insurance app, print out a physical copy to show to cops instead of showing them your phone. Cops are just about the only government agency you'll personally deal with that's legally allowed to lie to you. Never trust them.

Multiple people have literally started masking because of my posts (they told me this directly) and stopped themselves (AND others) from living a life with additional chronic illness and early death. People underestimate the impact that they can have online.

It’s funny cause people tell me *all the time* how they’ve learned from me and found community through my posts and been uplifted and connected to others and gotten tools to recognize and fight hate and felt less alone in the world. But I guess fuck that right? I’m not accomplishing anything.

This is particularly important to understand because Trumpist authoritarianism is the descendent of Jim Crow far more than say Hitler or Pinochet or Orban, and it's going to look a lot more like 1930s Mississippi than 1930s Berlin.

For most of its history, America hasn’t been a democracy, by any meaningful definition of the term! This isn’t some It Can’t Happen Here shit, in a way, it’s already happened. It just may not have directly affected you.
