here's the other thing about this: i have no real power to determine this, and neither do you. but i would walk through hell barefoot and back again to vote for a democratic corpse before i'd ever consider a) not voting, or b) voting for donald trump. this matters to me, it should matter to you.

Thanks largely to Biden and the Democratic party there is now a kind of global race to get to the mass, chear carbon-free energy. We're going to hit peak global emissions (fingers crossed) this year or next. We're deploying solar at a level that blowing away every single prediction.

Rain last night, so doing obligatory fireworks tonight. For the first time I can recall, the sparklers --- wouldn't light. Eventually, we got some to light by literally holding them over a fire ring --- and then many fizzled out before they were even halfway through. It seems a fitting metaphor.
