Every big media organization was so crossed-up by Trump winning in 2016 that they have been behaving and hiring as if Long Island-Coded Suburbo-Racist Sociopathy was on an unstoppable ascent worldwide, and interpreting everything backwards from there. It turns out most people actually hate it!

I do like Hollande, though, very under-rated policy-wise. Facing a difficult economy, he balanced the books by raising taxes rather than cutting welfare. His minister of the economy successfully advocated for loosening the noose on the Greek economy. He was also the most anti-Assad Western leader.

It’s remarkable how much more clear-eyed and unspun the financial press is right now when compared to politics-first outlets. This is almost the entirety of Bloomberg’s latest write-up, which does its best to present straightforward facts and specific uncertainties rather than filling in blanks.

Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.
