even if you can get the watergate tapes, aren't they arguably inadmissible under the court's standard in trump v us insofar as they involve official acts?
so is US v Nixon still good law

I feel like we don’t talk enough about how Steven Miller in 2015-6 would scour white nationalist websites for “good” stories and talking points and then feed them to Steve Bannon for him to run in slightly watered down form in Breitbart.
his emphasis is that biden’s presidency was itself the greatest hoax in US history and that its chief authors - obama, schumer, pelosi, jeffries, harris - are historic criminals. sounds like he knows which show trials he would recommend during a second trump presidency.

One failed attempt at a shoe bomb and we all take our shoes off at the airport. One failed attempt at overthrowing our country and we still allow the guy who orchestrated it to run for President so he can do it again. Why aren’t we protecting America from right-wing terrorism?

If you steal $1000, you can be sent to prison. When health insurance companies steal $50,000,000,000, they get tax breaks, subsidies and government contracts, while the people they steal from die or go into debt. But keep blaming immigrants and poor people for rising crime.

"Executive Time" fell out of the coverage of Donald Trump in the most incredible way. Nobody writing about his quest to become president again ever mentions the fact that he hated the job when he had it and he couldn't and wouldn't really do it!
The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? Dude was categorically unable to fulfill any of the demands of the office and the press barely cared

As the daughter of a Black Vietnam vet who suffered life long pain from a service related injury but was constantly turned away from care by the VA I can’t even bring myself to read this. My father eventually died of a treatable condition at 62 b/c he was sent home to take ibuprofen by a VA doc.
A 2017 internal Veterans Affairs report shows Black veterans were more often denied benefits for PTSD than their white counterparts. The analysis crunched claims data from fiscal year 2011 through 2016. And disparate treatment started after WWI when it was still called shell shock. It continues.

I could swear I saw a teacher post an assignment where they had generated a paper via chatgpt, and the task was to fact check it and rewrite it. Which drove the students up the wall

They're literally just doing "there's no such thing as qanon"
Stephen Miller now following Trump's lead and saying he has nothing to do with Project 2025. 1. His organization is on the Project 2025 advisory board. 2. He recorded a video as part of Project 2025 training tools 3. You can see Mandate for Leadership, the Project 2025 publication in the background

“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.
This!! Start with “they want to end no fault divorce, sell national parks, and ban porn” end with tax structure.

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

Right-wing legal talking heads are focusing on arguing that it is RIDICULOUS to say that a second-term Trump will be empowered by immunity to do horrific things, while carefully preparing to argue in seven months that it is RIGHT that Trump do horrific things which aren’t actually horrific anyway.

Also worth mentioning that if both Biden and Trump are unfit to do the job, I’d rather have whoever Biden chose to really run things rather than the Nazis at the Heritage Foundation. Hell, it doesn’t even matter if Trump *can* do the job because we all know he *won’t*.

Everyone complaining about Biden maybe not being at peak form if he has to be woken up by an emergency forgets that Trump didn’t do anything until about 11 am daily except shitpost. He also didn’t pay attention to any briefing unless his name was in it. And that was 7 years ago.

This is true though. Every day Biden will be a new age that is older than any age he was previously, so reporting on his age will always be breaking news.
I just want to save this series of tweets for posterity. Hopefully, we’ll have a chance to go back over what’s going on here when tempers have cooled.

We spend dozens of hours per week inside a hallucinatory bubble in which factual reality provides little or no check on how the world is depicted to us.

This is the fundamental problem we’re facing, with Biden, with Trump, with politics. We spend many hours a day consuming media. But the content of that media is increasingly determined not by WHAT IS TRUE, but by WHAT EARNS AUDIENCE ATTENTION. Factoids are harvested and rebuilt into those stories.
there's the larger question about why "a couple anonymous donors speaking on background says something bad about the candidate" is considered to be newsworthy enough to peg a front-page, push-notification-generating story to. Could easily do the same to Trump!

Johnny McEntee, one of Trump's most loyal deputies who is in regular contact with him, is literally one of the people collecting resumes for staffers who would implement Project 2025. Shame on any journalistic outfit who takes this "truth" at face value.
Today in "Trump didn't write this, someone on his campaign staff did." I don't know if Kellyanne Conway is working for Trump these days but this feels more like her style, voice, and syntax than Trump or those posting on his behalf recently.
