in retrospect maybe this big yawning gap between "alleged crimes took place" and "investigation began" was a mistake

Honestly the best chance we had was in 2021 when Dems still controlled Congress - expel the legislators who voted against certifying the election from Congress, use the rump majorities to pass court reform/expansion. bsky.app/profile/mara...
Biden should pack the court NOW. Just elevate circuit court judges who have already been confirmed to make it a at least a 7-6 liberal majority.

Honestly the fact that any media organization reports on the claims of the Israeli government without mentioning that they have consistently been found to lie about things is an indictment on the entire system

We fired the art department and replaced them with an orb. It hovers about four feet off the ground and follows us around the office. Sometimes it feels like it's waiting for something. Sometimes it follows you home. Jim says it told him to dig into the dirt. It will save the company twelve dollars.

The body of seven-year-old Sidra Hassouna, cousin of the wife of the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, was thrown onto building wreckage by an Israeli air strike in Rafah. Her twin was also killed, her 15 month brother, their parents, grandparents and uncle. A "safe" zone. ☹️

Humans share 70% of our DNA with zebrafish. So when you're having difficulty getting anything done, it's usually because a zebrafish is using the DNA.

feel like "Biden inching closer to ever to breach with Netanyahu" is one of those things like Trump facing real consequences for his criminality where we just continue to get closer and closer forever without ever getting there

dems regularly shooting themselves in their faces with this stuff is far more damaging than some lefty shitposters (Who would advise them not to shoot themselves in their faces like this)
Garland picked a Federalist Society member, Trump appointee to investigate Biden to virtue signal about Garland’s own personal virtue and fair mindedness, which is to say he had corrupt motives and should be fired www.politico.com/news/2024/02...
White House frustration with Garland growswww.politico.com The president believes the special counsel investigating his handling of classified documents went beyond his remit. And part of the blame is being placed on the AG.

for all of Manchin's fuckery, the IRA is still by far the most successful climate policy we've ever passed and one of the genuinely Very Good Things this admin got done there are few better trades in government bills than "tax rich people and use it for decarbonizing"
So the IRA will spend twice as much money as expected on decarbonizing, but that’s ok because it’ll grow the economy faster. Also the IRS enforcement of wealthy people will pull in $180b more than planned. So we get much bigger decarbonization for free.

Not sure what percentage of The Crisis At The Border as a national political issue/fixation would be alleviated by people simply changing the TV channel to like the Food Network but I sense it is a two-digit number that starts with a 7 or an 8.

The pace at which the media has rehabilitated almost every liar from the Trump era suggests there's some sort of competition among news outlets to catch them all like pokemon
Interestingly, "who" and "why" are the two questions I asked myself when I got this push notification

I know a lot of people with security clearances. If this story was about them, they’ve be fired by the time you read it. A national security investigation would be opened the next morning and a criminal investigation would be opened that afternoon. No way this guy can run SpaceX.
Another Musk on drugs story and many other fun conflicts among "independent" directors. Absolutely incredible the stuff they probably couldn't run given the stuff that legal signed off on here. www.wsj.com/tech/elon-mu...

cops in so much of the country went on an unannounced work slowdown during george floyd and never stopped it. once they realized their budgets and salaries only went up the less work they did, the implications were clear to them.
I'm apparently late to the DC crime facts blog but this is an absolutely remarkable chart
