Very cool to see Mark Cavendish win a record 35th Tour de France stage just now. Incredible sprinting to navigate his way up front in the final few hundred meters.

Kind of reminds me of the reactionary Me Too backlash in that respect.
Yes, the consistent background assumption of the conservatives is that the cases against Trump are retaliation for ordinary presidential behavior and not an attempt to hold the former president accountable for aberrant and illegal behavior.

The thing that gets me about this is that the overturned district court decision wasn’t particularly radical. It just said the city needed to have more shelter beds if they’re going to ban camping. Everyone is treating this like some impossible burden instead of a safe harbor.

once again its very cute that everyone who has poisoned their brains thinks that this election is going to be about anything other than abortion, the thing donald trump looked down the barrel of a camera and said it was good to ban

Similarly: a single golf course uses a bit over 5% the water of all Google data centers.

So what contortions were required to keep this from making civil asset forfeiture unconstitutional, or did they just accidentally ban that too?

This is a fun treat for anyone who hasn’t heard about this movie btw.
I just started laughing thinking again about the ending of the (very bad) movie Remember Me (2010). Highly recommend reading the plot summary if you don’t know the twist. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembe...

Look, some people just like watching silverfish leaping through the shag pile like giddy dogs in a cornfield, OK?

unrelated, but a guy at the airport bar just asked the bartender if she could put a beer in a to-go cup to take it with him, and without missing a beat or even looking up, she said “only if you’re a pilot” and it stopped the guy cold

Some of the most hostile interactions I have with people these days is when I’m at a park with my kids and I ask people to put their dog on a leash. They are consistently FURIOUS that I would dare to ask.
a friend of mine just lost her pup to an unleashed dog that attacked it, so this my reminder to you to leash your fucking dog when you’re in public

if you told me that the pretentious weird eugenics couple obsessed with having a large brood of uberchildren (ironically destined to wear coke bottle glasses) were also child abusers who didn't know shit about parenting, i would not have even blinked an eye, it'd be more surprising if they weren't

Recycling aluminum cans is basically the only individual action that’s even vaguely meaningful, everything else is systemic. Change happens through voting.
“When people confess their green sins as if I were some eco-nun, I want to tell them they’re carrying the guilt of the oil + gas industry’s crimes. That the weight of our sickly planet is too much for any person to bear. And that that blame paves the road to apathy, which can really seal our doom.”
