Jamie Raskin points this out all the time, and I just read 4000 pages of discourse about the Constitution and can confirm: Congress is outlined first because it’s supposed to be first. Everything flows from Congress.

I think one of the really under-appreciated things in the US is how much SCOTUS' statutory interpretation decisions are damaging--and they are--but almost exclusively because of /Congress/ being a failed institution.

On this I 100% disagree, mostly because "national service" /= "military service" The Netherlands system: 2-years national service required if a civil occupation, 1 year national service if military. America could really make good use of 100,000 youthful foresters right now, for example.

Mandatory national service is a bad idea (that in addition to being bad on the merits would be hideously unpopular) and I can't believe any left of center person is contemplating supporting any version of it in the United States

Today in "Twitter is over" news: A PR person for Lucid, one of Tesla's most direct competitors, just had a "platform manipulator" label put on his X.com account for (get this) refuting a fake internal email from Lucid's CEO that Musk fans and stock pumpers were circulating.
