2 of the top 3 candidates for the US presidency have shown a repeated willingness to believe any conspiracy dangled in front of them like a set of keys, including wildly anti-american ones, which are straightforward cognitive deficiencies for what we should demand in a president. neither are biden.

there are only three kinds of american voter who you’re allowed to write about/to: 1. democratic voters who hate the nominee 2. independent/swing voters who represent the ideal american voter and who have no strong pre-existing ideological preferences 3. republicans who cannot be persuaded

If this isn't making you ask "so, what's the elite media trying to do other than just get clicks" I don't know what to tell you that will open your eyes. At least my own days of being 100% certain that "assume stupidity or ignorance instead of malice" is a good idea are behind me. Now I flip a coin.

anyway, i don’t know what biden should do about the campaign. no one else does, either. but there’s not been enough discussion about whether powering through, bad press be damned, could also work, even though that has worked for him many, many times in his long political career.

his career has been defined by saying something that would normally doom another politician and then just slamming the gas and leaving it in the rearview, rather than getting personally bogged down in it, which is a trait he funnily enough shares with the younger progressive dems.

i don’t think that’s necessarily true of disney herself, but i think abigail disney believes, as all obscenely wealthy people do, that her wealth and privilege provide her with special insights and power that entitle her to speak for the people in a first amongst equals capacity
