Fascinated by this paragraph. “Dems have more substance, but Repubs are better at lying about it. Therefore there is no way to determine which is better.”
the thing you really can't over-emphasize about reactionary centrists is how *dumb* they are www.persuasion.community/p/a-guide-fo...

If Biden said something like this it would spell the end of not only his campaign but his current tenure. It's just one of countless examples of insane gibberish from Trump that the press & Democrats are choosing to treat as an immutable part of the electoral landscape rather than a story or issue.

A hill I will die on: all white-collar crimes are violent crimes. It's just that the violence is removed from the perpetrator because the perpetrator is wealthy.
Holy. Shit. They're literally saying Trump's felonies aren't that bad compared to the "real felonies". Bear in mind, they're ignoring J6 and "gimme 12000 votes" call and the stolen docs. We joke, but this is literally Newsmax copy.

Once again Trump successfully uses better verbal fluency to present the impression that he’s younger and more vigorous and meanwhile he’s fully spouting gibberish
If you paid attention to Trump's side of the debate, he had the same underlying problem Biden did, where over and over he would start a sentence and realize he couldn't say or remember the words that would come next, but where Biden stalled out, Trump just switched to blurting something unrelated

Donald Trump has good days and bad days but increasingly only bad days. He's lost it - he can't focus and his brains are leaking out his ears, but the press is very impressed with him because HE CAN STILL SHOUT

Just read a post suggesting that Troi's empathy is just an ability to hear the episode's background music when someone is speaking. This is now my personal canon.

Yes, Biden should have stuck to his promise of being a one term president but every time someone mentioned that in the last four years we were told we hated democracy but I feel like halfway down the drop at Splash Mountain is the wrong time to make that argument, NYT editorial board.

Yeah, I think I'm going to repeat this a bunch of times: It is incoherent to call for Biden to remain in office but not run. What you're saying is that *you* know that he's fine, but foolish voters won't. And anyone saying that is a fool.
Oddly, the ed board says Biden is doing a good job as President, and doesn’t suggest he leave that office.

Oh my God, I didn't realize this is literally the exact story I told in ONE NATION UNDER GOD. The Fraternal Order of Eagles was instrumental in spreading these Ten Commandments monuments across America in the 1950s ... as part of a promotional tour with the Cecil B. DeMille epic.
Eleven Commandments. Louisiana's law mandates a specific text. Not from Exodus, or Deuteronomy, but from the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They used a KJV-sounding pastiche adapted from the Bible and paraphrased by a Minnesota juvenile court judge in the 1950s. It's not the Bible. It's the Eagles.

No mention of the 97 journalists who’ve been killed while reporting on Gaza this year, the deadliest period since the Committee to Protect Journalists began to keep track.
As we commemorate World Press Freedom Day, we once again come together to shine a light on the plight of missing and detained journalists across the globe. For them, and for us, press freedom is about more than one day. We stand united to ensure trustworthy information remains accessible to all.

It’s incredible how quickly an openly anti-democratic candidate was normalized. This will receive a fraction of the attention given to campus protests.
