I swear I don't get any kick backs for reposting this but the underlying issue is the media has a bias against protest especially liberal protest. It's called the protest paradigm and its been documented for more than 40 years at this point. Link in next skeet.
Crickets who where? Just because nobody organized a pussy hat march in front of your house on Saturday morning when you didn't have anything better going on doesn't mean people aren't and haven't been holding sustained protests in the streets, at city councils, and at fascists' houses for years

The classic text on this by @chrislhayes.bsky.social is still jaw-dropping to read 20 years later archive.is/V3sbx
swing voters and undecided voters basically by definition think about and engage with politics differently than anyone on this site, anyone who writes for the ny times, and the vast majority of the times’ subscribers. otherwise they wouldn’t be undecided/swing voters.

on the very day the Supreme Court's conservatives said 'we know best' and put themselves in charge of complicated agency decisions one of the geniuses confused nitrous oxide and nitrogen oxide. So they had to have a do over. Not exactly an auspicious start. www.forbes.com/sites/alison...

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

I like the conspiracy theories about how chatGPT has "gotten dumber" because while it's possible they've railroaded it etc it's also just very obvious that the dazzle of the trick wears off fairly quick when you start needing consistent answers

WIRED caught an AI company scraping its articles w/o permission. Turns out, Amazon was hosting the machine doing the scraping, even though that violates Amazon's terms of service. Oh! And the AI company is funded by Jeff Bezos. wired.com/story/aws-perplexity-bot-scraping-investigation/

Every “person” you see in this is a job an actor didn’t get. Every “object” you see cost prop masters work. Every “set” you see is a place no crew was paid to work. The machine that made it was trained with stolen images. Fuck this video. Fuck the ghouls who made it. And fuck Toys-R-Us forever.

counterpoint, the bear was never good, it was a self serious show that hoped everyone would mistake people yelling over each other for real plot stakes and many fell for it. but literally no one is ready for that conversation slate.com/culture/2024...

what do you want to bet the opt-out procedure is a guy pulling you to the side and then mashing your face with his hands as if he's trying to sculpt you like clay
By the way, I've flown a couple times recently and the TSA is rolling out some weird facial recognition thing at some airports which you can opt out of. I would encourage everybody to opt out of it because I do not like the idea of normalizing that technology, especially in those hands.

I am once again asking you to consider that an entire information ecosystem established as the primary form of communication over a hundred years and allegedly regulated by the federal government was destroyed by scammers virtually overnight and we just don’t, like, ever talk about it
The first rule of avoiding scam calls is to never answer unknown numbers, and even some known ones. Curious? Bored? Worried it’s an emergency? Wait the extra minute it takes for the call to go to voice mail, then decide if it’s legitimate.
Sick of scams? Stop answering your phone.www.washingtonpost.com Phone scams are still hugely popular — and they depend entirely on people curious enough to answer.
