I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that, of 77 Roman emperors, only 10 died apparently natural deaths and 33 were assassinated. 26 of the assassinated were killed by soldiers.

I know we talk a lot about expanding the court, and that is good/necessary but let's not forget about expanding the House of Representatives and giving DC statehood. Part of our problem is that we don't have enough representation to ward off fascists.

I mean, I don't really want ANY president unshackled. Even one I voted for.

It was a huge missed opportunity IMO. The ending was all about "the people need to decide if they want Trump unshackled", which is big but the reality is even broader: people need to decide if they want to live in a society where they have a voice and the possibility of justice, or not.

This is all illegitimate though. I don't think we should treat it as anything more than an illegitimate act of madmen. Since they have the levers of the system, we don't currently have a solution but they have essentially broken the constitution.

It is absolutely, consistently, utterly mindblowing to me that this is not the entire Democratic platform right now. They would lose zero votes. Nobody voting red is gonna switch, nobody voting blue is happy with this SCOTUS. Expand. The. Fucking Court. We are dying out here.

Democrats should probably get off their fucking asses and do some court expansion on the Supreme Court.

I, a political junkie, have never even HEARD of Gina Raimondo. The people making suggestions like this are so high, I'm hallucinating.

I would feel better if those who are supposed to be political experts didn't beclown themselves this way. The choice is: 1) Biden 2) Harris 3) Total chaos / royal rumble, serious risk of coalition crack up. Leading an anti-fascist coalition is very hard. There is no Aaron Sorkin solution here.

I'm loving baseball right now because it's NOT politics...

I mean, what if both of the current presidential candidates stepped aside and we just started over from scratch?

At the end of the day, I don't need to be excited about the top of the ticket to be excited about this election. The presidential election is a root canal. Unfun but probably important not to avoid. DOWN BALLOT IS WHERE IT'S AT! Let's codify abortion! Let's kick these bitches off school boards!
