We did the same thing here in Missouri, a friend of mine collected signatures. Don't ignore red states, we absolutely want better
Organizers got enough signatures to put a measure protecting abortion on the ballot in Arkansas. In *Arkansas*. They had *no national support*. Ignore the pundits melting down over not being treated as Very Special Boys. Dobbs has fundamentally changed elections. Everything they know is wrong.
Arkansas abortion rights groups collect enough signatures to advance ballot measurewww.nbcnews.com A measure to enshrine abortion rights in the ruby red state’s constitution is now one step closer to making the November ballot — but major obstacles remain.

and then somehow for whatever surely unrelated reason she was absolutely pilloried in a million different articles for being mean to poor dear sweet innocent Sarah Huckabee Sanders and forced to apologize even though nothing she said about her was untrue or even THAT harsh
Just a reminder that Michelle Wolf nailed it at the White House Correspondents Dinner. NYT, I’m looking in your direction especially.

very hard to figure out what this use of DEI could mean other than the n word
Subtle. Very subtle.

I mean, Trump rambles on about sharks, batteries, and racism -- and was twice impeached and convicted of 34 felonies -- yet very few are asking him to drop out. 🤷🏽‍♂️
Joe Biden just had an 18 minute rally speech and if we can normalize that length maybe he can stay in.

just to get all process-y for a minute: a reason that media publlications don't operate at the speed of X or Reddit is that reporting - gathering information, assessing credibility, reviewing source documents, talking to people, checking facts, getting comment - takes longer than "big if true"

History will recall that the New York Times, that bastion of "the liberal media," on July 4, 2024 chose to give prime space on their op-ed page to a theocratic absolutist who argued that people shouldn't vote, even though he himself has voted in the last 2 elections (but nowhere is that mentioned).
When I first saw this I thought "no, that can't possibly be true." But alas, the Times did indeed choose today of all days to publish a right winger's recycled piece about how they don't vote, failing to mention that the author basically thinks absolutist theocracies are cool.

Lmao they just changed the title of the piece from “Why I don’t vote” to “Why I won’t vote” rather than tell readers that the guy actually does vote

Why I Don't Vote (OK, I Do Vote, but I Would Like to Discourage You, NY Times Reader, For Doing So For Some Reason) Via @bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us
Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

Either the Democrats will run Biden, or he'll say he can't continue the campaign and Democrats will run Harris. Either is newsworthy, but neither is nearly as radical as running a pro-insurrection convicted felon with legal immunity he's eager to use.

hang on, I tried this out and got 3,993 hits. obviously that's still a huge bias but they did cover it
I think it’s telling that if you search “Trump AND rape” on the New York Times website you don’t get a single article mentioning the E. Jean Carroll case but if you search “Biden AND old” you get 18,026 hits.

many things make me angry about the supreme court but one of the biggest things is just that none of those cowards in the gang of six will ever take real questions from the public

A convicted felon is applying for the only job in the world that lets him do as many crimes as he wants.

maybe seizing and arresting the Supreme Court majority for aiding and abetting an attempt to overthrow the U.S. government can be a "core constitutional duty" and an "official act," why not

let me get this straight, the NYT editorial board is *not* calling on the convicted felon to step down from the race? Just so I'm sure
