It’s because 2021 was the worst year of the pandemic like 2009 was of the Great Recession.

The basic problem here is the voters think that the Trump presidency was great actually. I am convinced this is some kind of trauma response to 2020 where people think bad things can never happen. If the race keeps going this way I guess we'll find out.

ok since u asked: did you know all of the transformers are canonically transgender, in particular Arcee. she says in the comics she was “forged male” but then wanted to have a girl body so she just reformatted herself. there are also enby transformers too, it’s a surprisingly queer series.

I understand the pull of doomerism but I'll also point out that "red-state" organizers and activists have been living under, and resisting/rebuking, many and various forms of oppression for a long time and should be considered leaders in this moment. Like I said back in 2017:

Another thing you can do is call Dick Durbin's office and demand he stand up for democracy and haul Alito and Thomas before the Senate Judiciary Committee. And publicly demand their resignations. If you can't literally impeach them, AT LEAST use the bully pulpit. 202-224-2152.

The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up. The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.
