look at it this way: what company does *better* at operations or strategy when they outsource those capabilities? the difference is that companies might save more/spend less, but if you’re a camping with money left over at the end, you fucked up

this is true but there’s a big and important difference this time, they’re turning everything over to the PACs, not the fed or state parties, and the PACs have a significantly less effective record
This isn't the first campaign season where the Republicans have a money problem. It'll end the same way it always does - right wing billionaires will quietly make sure to give them what they need. I don't pay the "oh no they have a fundraising problem" stories much heed.

The fashion industry just feels so fundamentally based in luxury markup, labor exploitation, and resource waste that it's totally unworkable. The whole idea that you can't wear clothes anymore because they aren't hip just feels gross, as does a badge on a bag increasing its value by $2723
Italian prosecutors in Milan investigated how Dior is producing their handbags. They found that the workers were sleeping in the facility so bags could be produced around the clock. Consumers pay $2,780 per bag. The production of the bags costs Dior $57. Ht: @maxroser.bsky.social
Now we know how much it costs to make a $2,800 Dior bagwww.businessinsider.com In recent months, Italian authorities raided Dior subcontractor workshops where people were working around the clock, they said.

if only there was a word for "displacing" an "entire population" of people using "military ground operations"
Nearly 2 million people have been displaced in Gaza – almost the entire population – after the Israeli military last week ordered a further 80,000 people to evacuate parts of Gaza City amid a renewed ground operation, the latest UN figures show.

There were a bunch of "pro-Bernie" people in the media ecosystem that would've turned on Bernie if he had managed to actually become the Dem nominee
Ken Klippenstein is streaming with George Galloway. The Young Turks are hosting RFK Jr. One ex bernie spokesperson is streaming with candace owens and another is defending Nick Fuentes. Brianna Wu is hanging with lauren southern. Maybe now is the time to re-evaluate how the left chooses celebrities.

Things seem bleak but it’s probably a bad sign for Republicans that people have started mentioning their actual goals and political blueprint and their response is “how fucking dare you??”

Two kinds of US presidential elections: "time for a change" and "don't fuck my life up" and I think you're insane if you think 2024 is gonna be in the former camp.
This is super important work. And it looks like it's actually having an effect. Normal people learn about Project 2025 and are scared as shitless as they should be. The Nation, The New Republic, Rolling Stone, Boston Review and others are doing the work that NYT and WaPo are neglecting.

We really discount how aggressively right wing PR groups push those stories. There just isn’t the same funding or assertiveness from left wing groups. It is eternally frustrating.

And speaking of Baltimore, I'm sure my followers are waiting on pins and needles for my latest update on our astonishing fall in homicides. The wait is over! 😏

Oil companies have been pushing "we don't have enough grid energy to handle EVs!" through all their propaganda channels, luckily for us, it's not true.
If you do the math, electrifying *all* ground transportation in the US would increase electricity demand by less than 20%. HVAC, especially in heating climates, is going to be a considerably bigger challenge for the grid. Easily shiftable EV load could actually help make the grid stabler!

Wow, it's weird how the media narrative of a far right populist wave keeps crashing against reality in every country that actually requires them to win a majority of votes to take power
The 2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition. This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc. If confirmed, key takeaway: Left & Macronist voters transferred onto each other much more than expected. Clear anti-RN front.

The prospect of both France and the UK potentially recognising Palestine soon is huge, given both are on the Security Council. That really would make it just the US holding out.
Mathilde Panot, President of the La France Insoumise in Parliament which is part of the New Popular Front that just shocked the world, says that France will recognize a Palestinian state in the next two weeks.
