"We've been planning this for a week on Twitter" is both the most ridiculous and most cursed justification for a major national political strategy I've ever seen.
Again, I am forced to concede there is a serious problem of cooked brains this election

knowing that the white house just signed a massive parkinson’s bill in july changes the entire tone of this story so much that this makes it wildly, horrifically offensive
Breaking News: A Parkinson’s expert visited the White House eight times in eight months from last summer through this spring, according to official visitor logs. The administration has said that President Biden has no signs of the disease.

good lord, this politburo piece on the RNC shitting their pants about abortion restrictions has some wild lines, like the committee agreeing with trump with “wild euphoria” and claims that trump wrote parts of the policy himself apple.news/A3FwpjwVuR6K...

Oh word?? I wonder if this had anything to do with it www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo... I certainly don’t believe that the New York Times is on a bullshit crusade for a bed wetting publisher and his donor buds, that would never happen

Wait just a second here. Are you saying that the President and/or his administration consulted with actual experts before doing something? He didn't just hold a press conference and suggest injecting bleach or sticking a light bulb up your ass to cure Parkinson's? Seems crazy.

The New York Times has shifted into a full-time ratfucking operation. I'm sorry, but if you're still going along with the bullshit they're feeding you, that's a choice you yourself are making.

The kicker: burn pits legislation gets almost national attention. The most recent story in May? 1 million vets had claims approved since passage.
For a look at how we got here, here's how many results you get for various newsworthy topics on the NY Times website. Note that wars, COVID, and inflation dominate. Times has about as many hits for Biden's age as Trump's crimes, Biden's major legislation receives a fraction of attention.

Trump raped a woman, was revealed as being in constant contact with a sex trafficker, stole nuclear secrets, is old, forged electoral certificates, was convicted of 34 felonies, committed fraud, is literally on the Saudi payroll, sent a mob to hang his VP but the opponent is also old.
In this chat, we suggest a distinction between covering something (NYT does great reporting on Trump's autocratic plans), and *crusading.* The latter is wholly different: It uses saturation coverage to alert readers that they should be alarmed. That's just not happening w/r/t Trump's unfitness.

The key here is that the far left decided they’d biggest enemy was the fascists, not the center-left. Hoping we can learn the same lesson here.
Well France apparently just collabed between everyone else to kick a far right party out of the chance to take power, it can be done if enough people want it to be, folks

Biden's handling of inflation has been pretty phenomenal.
Consumers no longer expect elevated inflation as prices have cooled back to a normal pace of increase. *US 1-YR INFLATION EXPECTATIONS FELL TO 3% IN JUNE FROM 3.2% *US 3-YR INFLATION EXPECTATIONS ROSE TO 2.9% IN JUNE AFTER 2.8% *US 5-YR INFLATION EXPECTATIONS FELL TO 2.8% IN JUNE AFTER 3%

If I was *really* committed to this bit, I'd have a dozen posts saying despite the NYT's explanation that it was an error on Meta's end, several Times editors discussed how they were "getting roasted in the replies," by "really mean shitlibs," according to a source familiar with the conversations.
NYT says their performance on Threads today was an aberration, & not indicative of deeper problems they've had with social media. Unfortunately, that hasn't satisfied many observers whose concerns are growing louder. The stakes are too high. For the good of the news, the Times should step aside

The narrative that's forming isn't "Biden is old/mad/an egomaniac", it's "Biden is refusing to back down despite those fancy New York City elites trying to force him to do so."

Yeah, like it's hard to listen to that interview and come away thinking "Biden is an impotent old man who doesn't know his own name half the time."

I stopped watching Morning Joke last week. Or maybe it was the week before IDK. The media intelligentsia has moved on from panic about Biden's mental state to rage that he refuses to obey them.

They should leak the polls if they're so worried about them. Otherwise, I'm forced to conclude that this is similar to that one House leader who was represented as demanding Biden drop out, which was then corrected by his campaign to "he supports Biden staying in".

They could release those polls. Also "the polls are bad" and "the polls will become catastrophically bad in the near future by some process I refuse to elaborate on" are very different claims

"Mounting fears of a rout" I'm sorry this is pure fantasy-land stuff. Most people in the country still hate trump, his unfavorables are always in the mid-fifties. Obviously he could win but he's not threatening to sweep into power with a huge popular mandate, despite the wishes of the NYT
