Republicans also just killed a program that provided a $30 discount on broadband bills for poor people because they're good faith populists who care about rural Americans or whatever
The governors of a dozen Republican-led states — AL, AK, FL, GA, IA, MS, OK, SC, SD, TX, UT, WY — opted out of a new federal food assistance program, leaving about 9.5 million students without the aid this summer

Sometimes I see posts like this and don't understand the context and for one millisecond I think maybe I don't follow enough people and then I remind myself I follow exactly the right amount of people and not knowing about the barf bowl discourse is totally fine.
I'm going to be honest, barf bowl discourse is a real step up from where we've been, great work everybody

Such strange framing. “Biden’s doing worse in the polls than any president since 1980! (ᵉˣᶜᵉᵖᵗ ᶠᵒʳ ʰⁱˢ ᶜᵘʳʳᵉⁿᵗ ᵒᵖᵖᵒⁿᵉⁿᵗ, ʷʰᵒ ᵈⁱᵈ ᵉᵛᵉⁿ ʷᵒʳˢᵉ ʲᵘˢᵗ ᶠᵒᵘʳ ʸᵉᵃʳˢ ᵃᵍᵒ)”

“Our best idea continues to be treason.”
It doesn’t seem like they’re very confident Trump is going to win in November. Maybe they should have chosen a better candidate?

The far right cope machine is already trying to manufacture a narrative about the massive loss the French fascists faced today. They are scared they can sense what’s coming to America and it’s not fascism. Popular fronts win and scare fascists. Keep them on the back foot they are weak and scared.

"The preliminary results upended widespread predictions of a clear victory for the National Rally," says the NYT just now. Wait, who made these predictions of a massive victory for the National Rally again? Oh yeah, these guys did:

I’ve told this story here before, but when my mom was a fledgling reporter she had to interview David Duke. Her name, at the time, didn’t betray her Korean heritage. When she showed up to the interview, Duke said, “if I’d known you were a g**k I’d have refused to meet with you.”
I like Wikipedia description of David Duke. The last bit feels at home with the rest. "White supremacist, antisemitic conspiracy theorist, former grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, member of the Republican Party."
