two suggestions: 1) focus on the things you can actually control. 2) what you can actually control is bigger than you ever imagined, if you organize with other smart, dedicated people.

Because the Law Enforcement Baronial Class knows that MAGA will make law enforcement a jobs program for angry men. Good job Democrats funding the police machine so they are ready to take over.
Just some cops, in uniform, fanboying with the guy who blew his fortune trying to overturn an election with conspiracy theories so nutty, even the Trump legal team rejected them. slate.com/news-and-pol...

In the immortal words of James Baldwin, "It's not on us to cool it."
Decade after decade of stochastic terror, gun rights fervor, & the foment of conspiratorial thinking by, from, on, & within the right, & yet it's somehow DEMOCRATS & the LEFT who need to "calm things down" or "lower the temperature?" Nah son. We *been* calm, and quite fucking cool and collected. …

News that should shock no one: After assassination attempt, Elon Musk claims he'll donate $45 million a month to super PAC that backs Trump; Bill Ackman officially endorses; other Silicon Valley players and venture capitalists decree the "taboo" of supporting MAGA movement is gone.

After Donald Trump survived a shooting, Elon Musk publicly declared he was backing him as president. Musk had already begun donating to a pro-Trump SuperPAC before the endorsement. He also began lashing out at pro-Biden tech elites like Reid Hoffman.

If someone told you, "Many of America's top reporters spend a lot of their day in a chat room run by a 'great replacement' believing white supremacist and where many posters are Nazis" you'd be alarmed. That's basically the situation now.
I’ve said this a million times, but I’m genuinely frightened about what Musk’s fascist propaganda network is doing to do to our politics. I really wish someone, anyone, would come up with a collective strategy to get journalists, organizers and elected officials off the platform.

FWIW this is also political violence

It is quite noticeable that Democrats have, in less than 24 hours, expressed more sympathy for a guy who didn’t actually get killed than for the tens of thousands of Palestinians who’ve been brutally murdered over the last several months.

I think a lot about the fact that a lot of people don't have safe places in real life to say to someone else: "I'm really scared." So people use social media for that but don't preface the posts with: "I'm really scared." It usually comes out as "we're all doomed and gonna die" or as jokes.
This is really no time to insult people for being afraid.

absolutely brilliant. the cataloging of violent imagery from the right is incredible. i mean, we all know this, but it’s striking to see it in one paragraph.
Well I'm given to understand that today & for a VERY limited time, our nation's political violence party is shocked—shocked!—to learn that we currently live in a world of normalized political violence, and would like very much to know who is to blame. Full Essay: www.the-reframe.com/gambling-in-...

The Israelis are pretty open about their strategy of declaring "safe zones" for Palestinians, forcefully concentrating them into those safe zones, and then mass murdering them with airstrikes and bombardment. This is genocidal. It is supported by the United States.

Some seem to get mad at the wrong people on purpose. It means they don't have to actually fight against those with power. Punching down or laterally can feel like catharsis.

This is insane.
I learned at an engineering conference recently that one crypto mine in TX, 100s of MW, makes more money off ERCOT demand response markets than it does off crypto repeat: TX ratepayers pay them more to sometimes stop mining than they make by actual mining just bananas misuse of power markets 🔌💡
