This is the fundamental problem we’re facing, with Biden, with Trump, with politics. We spend many hours a day consuming media. But the content of that media is increasingly determined not by WHAT IS TRUE, but by WHAT EARNS AUDIENCE ATTENTION. Factoids are harvested and rebuilt into those stories.

there's the larger question about why "a couple anonymous donors speaking on background says something bad about the candidate" is considered to be newsworthy enough to peg a front-page, push-notification-generating story to. Could easily do the same to Trump!

I'm trying to remember a video game. Cute 2d game with differently colored blobs navigating over a landscape, and each one had a different song in a completely made up language. The songs slapped! Each color had a different genre - yellow was pop, pink was a torch song, black was funk, etc. Help!

If the answer to people who disagree is that they will stop existing, be forced to agree, or be deprived of any method to have their opinions considered, that’s not a democracy, a republic, or any kind of representative government. It’s authoritarian.

I’m going to say this a lot between now and November, but: Democracy is defined by what happens when we disagree.

There were people doing donuts in an old pick-up truck in the library parking lot on Saturday. My colleague asked them to move & they started doing it in the street at which point she called the cops who came & left without doing anything. Later he came in to say we ruined their gender reveal party

Seeing these posters out in the world is pretty moving. especially when placed close to victim blaming signage.

On a whim, introduced myself to a guy in my aikido lessons at college -> sheltering hundreds of homeless over the past few decades, meeting my wife, having our work shown at a Smithsonian museum and the Triennale design museum in Milan.

Mine is getting a fellowship that put me in the Pentagon to working and living in Otatwa.
