"Executive Time" fell out of the coverage of Donald Trump in the most incredible way. Nobody writing about his quest to become president again ever mentions the fact that he hated the job when he had it and he couldn't and wouldn't really do it!

The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? I think this is the fundamental asymmetry underlying every aspect of the conflict between the parties; you see it in the Senate, in gerrymandering, in the use of executive power I don't want King Biden either, but it's long past time to make the GOP afraid of the consequences of endless escalation

I honestly believe that a lot of conservative strategizing is based on the correct assumptions that liberals would never be as ruthless as they are.

3) People are even worse at predicting what will change **other people's** opinions. Questions about this tell you basically nothing about the state of the race. A big issue here is the Third Person Effect, in which people think things that haven't changed their views will still persuade others.

practically every rural-to-urban person i’ve known in my life (and i grew up in OK, i know a *lot* of these folks) is far harsher on the rural conservatives they grew up around than the average urban progressive, wonder why “you must be patient with the country folk” scholars don’t ever talk to them
