I legitimately don’t even think the US political journalists (who aren’t already openly MAGA) have any intention of kissing up to Trump, either - they’re legitimately so incredibly naive that they think Trump will just let them keep doing their thing, saying whatever they want.

American political journalists nowadays are so stunning provincial that they can’t even imagine an *extremely likely* reality in which a second Trump regime starts murdering them. They are the absolute last people who should want the U.S. to function like Putin’s Russia.

Trump’s public schedule showed that on most days, he worked (“worked”), like three hours a day. And this isn’t even a “Biden can’t work late at night” issue. It’s a Biden is pulling back on SCHEDULED EVENTS that start after 8pm, which is actually a good idea for most people.

1) they are private companies that are kept alive by ad sales, which require views and clicks. There's no conspiracy needed, Trump is controversy, and while he was in office, media viewership soared. After Biden came into office, it plummeted. Simple as.

I know it does not resolve the question on people’s minds in the slightest but I think it’s a genuinely corrosive thing to have an expectation that the president of the United States, a human being, should basically be a superhuman in terms of stamina and necessary rest.

Exactly, thank you. Also, does anyone actually think it's good to have the President working well past 8 PM every night? That seems like a bigger cognitive drain than being old.

want to co-sign this one especially. people talk about the dynamics of social media like people haven't been believing crazy shit since forever. satanic panic. blood libel. witch burnings. take your pick. the medium is new and important to understand, but the fundamentals less so.
