Just at the most basic level it is really unhealthy to have to thought about Donald Trump as much as everyone in America has over the last nine or so years. Spending a decade of my life thinking about a super boring, super shitty crook and all the bad stuff he's doing or might do. It's embarrassing.

I’m all in favor of meeting people where they are, but this dynamic annoys the hell out of me. No, I won’t perform melodramatic outrage for you to accept that I agree with you.

Folks don't want to hear it, because I get that it doesn't feel like this, but someone should say it anyway: forcing yourself to watch trauma videos is self harm, and it is main character syndrome. The world is not better if you self-traumatize, and watching them is not building empathy with victims

Yep. And little to no chance of getting prosecuted for fraud, since cops will never want a public record of being bamboozled

The most successful scammers are the ones who figure out how to sell their junk to cops. No civilian oversight of their budgets or auditing their spending. It’s lifetime income, lifetime support upsells, ever-expanding market because there’s always money for cops to buy more crap.

I mean ... it's also wrong. 2024 isn't the most important election of your lifetime. 2016 was. We fucked it up. 2024 is just another year of trying to put the toothpaste back into the toothpaste tube with chopsticks, and it's grim and boring and timeconsuming and it sucks but also it is what it is.

So many of the Founders were epic holders of grudges. Was that just an 18th century intellectual thing, or a quirk of this group?
